Many people have worked hard to organize this year’s EGMUN. We have spoken to the Conference Managers, whom you fear for judging your clothes, and it has turned out that they are not as ruthless as you might think. It is time for you to get to know your Conference Managers

MUN-experiences

Which one has been your favorite MUN-conference so far? Why?

Christine: I think it must be this one even though it hasn’t begun yet. Because of my title as Conference Manager, I can do whatever I want.

Maiken: It must be HNMUN (Harvard National Model United Nations), it was such an amazing conference and everything was perfectly organized down to the smallest detail, however, they didn’t use the same Rules of Procedure as we do in Europe so that was kind of confusing in the beginning, but everything is a learning experience and it was so much fun!

What is your most embarrassing MUN-experience?

Maiken: Going to a conference where all the delegates were like 12-14 years old, while I was 18… Yeah, but hey on the bright side I won best delegate – ahaha!

Christine: My first conference ever was EGMUN13 where I got so drunk at the official party that my mom picked me up at 8pm. At the conference the next morning I fell asleep in the bathroom and was gone for like 45 minutes.

What is the funniest thing you experienced during a MUN-conference?

Maiken: A girl from my committee last year won #chairspy at EGMUN, and let me just say that it’s a CUTE picture that everyone saw at the closing ceremony! I’m not going to show it to you, if you want to see it you have to find it yourself.

We at Press are happy to say that we have found the picture for you!

What is the best part of being Conference Manager?

Christine: I get to organize, which I love.

Maiken: Knowing that you organized this big ole’ conference with the Executive Staff – we have all been working so intensely on it for a whole year and seeing it come together is just amazing!

Oh yeah aaand dress code checks, for the ones who don’t know Christine and I will be walking around in the forums for a dress code check, and if it’s not good enough, oh well we have some big trash bags and some duck tape, we can make it work for you!

What are some MUN-go’s and no-go’s?

Go’s:

  • Take part in the debate
  • Make yourself stand out, of course, while following Dress Code
  • Use #egmun15 and tag us on Instagram, Snapchat (EGMUN2015), Facebook & Twitter
  • Smile!

No-go’s:

  • Sleeping during session (or in the bathroom, Christine)
  • Being disrespectful
  • Don’t stain your suit while eating Bjarne’s food

Random facts

What superpower would you have, if you were a superhero?

Maiken: Flying for sure, I mean just imagine the view.

Christine: My superpower would be the power to compel everyone anytime and always get my way.

What is one of your guilty pleasures?

Christine: Chocolate. And 80’s music.

Maiken: I dip all my French fries in milkshake, and I think cheeseburger soup is the best thing ever invented!

What pair of shoes do you wear the most? Why?

Maiken: Sneakers! They are just comfy and I have weak angels so I really can’t walk in heels for long!

Christine: I think I wear my boots the most, because it’s cold outside and they’re easy to put on.

What is the first thing you notice about new people?

Maiken: Their face, probably mostly their eyes!

Christine: Their ears. It’s a thing of mine. I like ears.

What would someone have to do to date you?

Maiken: Be a gentleman.

Christine: They would have to be nice, smart, funny and have a good sense of humor, and oh – hot. And I like long hair, but not too long though.

Which famous person would be the ideal boyfriend?

Maiken: Got to be Liam Hemsworth – what a hottie.

Christine: Ian Sommerhalder. He is insanely hot (hot ears). And he loves animals.

Where do you want to travel to next?

Maiken: I want to say Asia, because it’s so beautiful over there

Christine: I’m looking forward to go to France, Val d’Isere for skiing this winter. But I could also use a week with hot summer weather.
